We have access to a forge and common tools. This shop is located outside in one north back bay next to welding.

Certifications Required

A training class is required before accessing any equipment independently in this shop.

Blacksmithing Safety Course: learn safe operations of shop, and create an incense holder from a horseshoe. Completion of this class will grant members independent use of space. Class is regularly available on our calendar .

Minors ages 13-15 may use the shop but must have a certified legal guardian present with them in the shop at all times.
Minors 16-17 need to have a certified legal guardian on site at TinkerMill.

Anyone, members and non-members, can attend classes.

Only members can use space independently after certification due to safety and community considerations.

Cost of Shop

In addition to being a member, there is additional cost to use shop space. Shop use fees for time and consumables are used to maintain each of the shops.

Time and Consumable Use:

– $8/hr to use shop, this includes your cost for forge gas.

Additional Classes

We encourage you to practice these skills independently and ask for help. Further instruction is possible upon request. Contact shop captain for more opportunities.

Other Info

Only members can use the space independently after certification due to safety and community considerations. Non-members may only use the space if supervised by a certified member (this member assumes all responsibility for damages).

Reservations on our Google Resource Calendar (members only) are not required but receive precedence.

TinkerMill provides PPE, although you are encouraged to have your own.
