TinkerMill Shop: Textiles

We provide equipment, hand tools, and basic supplies to support home sewing, industrial sewing, machine embroidery, upholstery, clothing care, and general fabric and textiles crafts. We have a clean, comfortable, dedicated room specifically for textiles work. The Textiles Shop at TinkerMill is one of the best sewing and fabric arts maker space shops in Colorado. Located inside across from pottery shop, homed in it’s own room by the northwest corner of the building.

Notable Equipment

  • 8’ cutting table with grid and cutting surface
  • Industrial sewing machines: Juki DNU-1541S and Kingmax GC1541S.
  • home sewing machines and sergers, including Brother, Singer, and Husqvarna varieties.
  • Embroidery machines including Brother SE-400 and Babylock EMP-6
  • Cricut Explore Air 2 tabletop cutting machine and accessories
  • Graphic design workstation with office productivity software, CAD software, and professional embroidery design software
  • Upholstery and leather working tools

Basic home sewing machines are available to all, training is optional.

Certification classes to access specific tools:

  • Industrial Sewing Machine Certification: training to teach and give access to Juki and Kingmax sewing machines
  • Introduction to Machine Embroidery: Your first class to embroider at TinkerMill’s textile shop. This will give you access to Brother SE-400
  • Intermediate Machine Embroidery: You must have taken the intro before this class. This class will teach you safe operation of our Babylock EMP-6 machine.
  • Heat press

Time Use: $3/hr $6/day, $20/month

Consumables: We have shelves of stock (thread, buttons, fabric scraps, etc), not guaranteed, and varying pricing

It’s encouraged that you use our shop space to practice skills. A basic sewing instruction class is available upon request. Members are encouraged to bring project ideas to drive activity in the shop’s community.

Reservations are not required. We do have a ‘textiles shop’ room on our google calendar if needed for classes and events.

Textiles shop is open to all, members and non-members alike. Training is required for anyone on machines with certification.
