TinkerMill Shop: Electronics

Located in our main space, access electronic test equipment, soldering stations, and variety of tools and materials to create your project.

  • Variety of wire and material

Small hand tools are available to everyone, training optional. Currently certification is required to use the soldering irons and hot air gun. Members can take a free online quiz to get certified to use them at the link here. If you would like to schedule a soldering class or if there is additional equipment you would like help using, please request a session with electronics@tinkermill.org or members can post in the #electronics channel in Slack. Additional classes are still in development. 

All minors under the age of 18 must have legal guardian with them at all times unless otherwise permitted by the Shop Captain.

  • Soldering: 10+ with legal guardian supervision, 16+ with legal guardian in the building
  • Power Supplies: 18+ only
  • All electrical measuring equipment: Any age with legal guardian supervision, 16+ with guardian in the building.

In addition to being a member, there is additional cost to use shop space. Shop use fees for time and consumables are used to maintain each of the shops. 

Time Use: $1/day, $10/month

Consumables: We have shelves of stock, not guaranteed, and varying pricing

Many projects and opportunities here are member driven. Initiate a project, and ask a Shop Captain or in the Slack community if and when you need it.
